Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 7, 2026

This policy is a draft pending legal review.

The sections below describe what Take does with user data. They are factual and accurate, but they have not been reviewed by a lawyer. Do not take real user data or payments until this document has been legally reviewed.

Overview

Take is a music collaboration tool built by Dead Pixel Design. It lets producers share stems, rough mixes, and feedback with collaborators. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it. We do not sell your data.

What we collect

  • Account: Your email address, managed by Supabase Auth. We also support Google OAuth sign-in.
  • Profile: A display name you set. No profile photos, bios, or social features.
  • Projects: Project names, descriptions, collaborator lists, and invite links you create.
  • Audio files: Stems and rough mixes you upload (.wav, .aiff, .flac, .mp3). Original files are stored for Reaper access; compressed playback copies are generated automatically.
  • Comments and voice memos: Text comments, voice memo recordings, and their timestamps on the audio timeline.
  • Payment data: Stripe handles all payment processing. We store a subscription status flag and Stripe customer ID. We never see or store your credit card number.
  • Reaper tokens: API tokens you generate to connect the Reaper script. These are stored hashed.
  • Usage data: Anonymous page-view analytics via Vercel Analytics (no personally identifiable information).

Third-party services

  • Supabase: Database, authentication, and file storage. supabase.com/privacy
  • Vercel: Hosting and anonymous usage analytics. vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
  • Stripe: Payment processing and subscription management. stripe.com/privacy

How we use your data

  • To operate the app: store and serve your projects, audio, and comments.
  • To generate compressed playback versions of uploaded audio.
  • To send email notifications when collaborators upload new roughs or leave comments.
  • To manage your subscription and billing via Stripe.
  • To improve the app using aggregate usage analytics.

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties.

Data retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your projects, audio files, comments, and profile are deleted from our database. Stripe retains payment records per their own retention policy.

Your rights

You can edit or delete your own projects, stems, roughs, and comments at any time within the app. To request complete account and data deletion, email us at david@deadpixel.design. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Take evolves. The “last updated” date reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Take after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
